Allen County Public Library

Allen County Public Library in Fort Wayne, IN engaged KBA to help with multiple projects starting in 2017 and continuing into 2018. The initial assignment was to complete a Strategic Planning project that would guide the library from 2018-2023. The focus areas determined through the planning process included Community Awareness & Engagement; Library as Place; Innovative & Adaptive; and Culture of Collaboration.

The second project was to develop Design Concepts for the Main Library. That involved rethinking the main lobby and portions of the adult services areas with a goal of a more vibrant and engaging entry experience. In addition, a 1st floor exhibit area was created to feature the special Lincoln Collection.

Finally, a third project was undertaken to develop a 10-20 year capital and investment strategy for renovations and replacement facilities. This included facility assessments of the 13 branch libraries and incorporated design recommendations, budgeting, and financial analysis. Recommendations included options ranging from redesigns to suggestions for on-going updates and refreshes.

Project completed under Kimberly Bolan and Associates. Strategic Planning led by Rob Cullin, Main Library Design Concepts led by Kimberly Bolan Cullin, and Branch Library Facility Assessments and Recommendations co-led by Rob Cullin and Kimberly Bolan Cullin.
